The Land & Water Realty team is lead by Travis O'Dell. Travis is a Catskill Mountain native with generational roots and ties to the land. Growing up hunting and fishing at a very young age, he developed a deep sense and appreciation for the outdoors. This experience led him to seek higher education with a major in Fishery and Wildlife Management at SUNY Cobleskill. Post college, he found himself in various biological field work positions throughout the country, only to return home. He was a carpenter for years until settling down on his family farm in 2010 where he now resides with his wife and three daughters.

His farm, which was settled by his family in 1846, is an original homestead and characteristic of premier spring water and stoic stone walls. Travis has raised pastured, grassfed lamb, beef and pork with rotational grazing practices and routinely grows a large garden. He also operates a small sawmill on the farm specializing in live edge and rough cut hard and softwoods.

In 2012, Travis took a role as the Resource Specialist for the Upper Delaware Council in Narrowsburg, NY where he was the lead staff member for the water use and resource management committee and the project management committee working closely with local municipalities and the National Park Service up and down the Upper Delaware River corridor from Hancock to Port Jervis. In 2014, while at the Upper Delaware Council, Travis became licensed in real estate and started working weekends which soon after became fulltime.

In 2015 Travis became a fulltime real estate sales agent for Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties and expanded the company to open its 6th branch office in Roscoe in 2018 where he was the managing broker until 2022, This is when he decided his passion and skills were best focused on the fundamentals of real estate in the Catskills, the land and the water.

Land and Water Realty focuses on the unique characteristics of the land. The terrain and soils vary greatly, as do the countless streams and tributaries throughout the region. The team at Land and Water is the best suited to walk your property and identify the highest and best use and directly communicate that back to buyers.

Travis has also been volunteering his time on the Town of Hancock Planning board since 2015 and the Delaware County Planning board since 2018.

Leading the team at Land and Water Realty, Travis is always eager to look at and discuss real estate and offer his honest opinion on the best use and value for individual buyers and sellers.
